End of Summer

It's the end of the summer and this is what we've been up to.

Jacob's garden is growing like crazy. He has a cucumber plant that won't stop growing cucumbers, one huge watermelon, about 8 small ones that aren't going to ripen before the frost gets them and 3 big pumpkins. We also have 2 huge tomato plants, 2 green bell pepper plants that will not stop growing peppers and a broccoli plant that we accidentally let go to flower because we didn't know what we were doing.

I tried this on Noah the other day. We're still trying to figure out his Halloween costume. The boys are going to be ninja turtles, so I'm deciding between a pizza box, a foot soldier from TMNT or a pre-mutated turtle.

We took the boys back up to Spanish Fork Reservoir a couple of days ago. The weather was really nice, probably one of the last really hot days of the summer, and the water was not as cold as it was when we went a few months ago. It was fun.

Noah's figured out the humor in juxtaposition and likes to put things on his hands that don't belong there. His favorite is shoes, but he puts anything that will fit on his hands on and the walk around laughing at himself.

Jacob and his watermelon. It turned out to not be ripe, which was a bummer. It was super sweet for not being ripe, so I can't even image how good it would have been. But this was the first time we've actually succeeded in growing a watermelon and we didn't know when to pick it.

Before my mom left on her mission she asked me to do a couple of projects around the house. I realized the other day if we didn't get going on these projects, it was going to get cold, then I wasn't going to do them, then it would warm up in March and she was getting home in April, so if they were going to get done I had to do them now. We cut down a dead aspen tree and for 2 people who had NO idea what we were doing, nobody died. So success!!! This happened with the first cut, so it did not start out promising.

Last time at the splash pad. Noah kept attacking Jacob whenever Jacob would lay down. It was hilarious. You probably had to be there.

Walking around with a  yogurt cup on his hand and thinking he's hilarious.

Bryan tried teaching the boys how to eat donuts on a string for FHE the other night. Noah had no idea what was going on, but with a little help got it in his mouth. He didn't like having his hands held down.

Jacob got it first, but Gus did a good job. He loved it.

This should have been before the picture of Noah. This was when Bryan first holds the donut in front of him and he's staring up at Bryan like he's crazy because he can't use his hands.
