Bubbles

Making big bubbles that last has been a recent project of ours. We tried out a couple of different bubble recipes and have yet to find the absolute perfect one, but we got some pretty good bubbles on Saturday. The best recipe we've tried so far has 12 cups of water, 1/3 of a bottle of blue Dawn dish soap (I heard antibacterial Dawn dish soap works even better and Joy dish soap works well also, but we haven't tried those yet), 1 tsp baking powder, 3/4 cup corn syrup (some recipes have corn starch, but it all settled to the bottom and didn't stir well. The corn syrup combined much better). We have a bottle of powder J-Lube and if you use this, put in a teaspoon. If you don't have J-Lube, liquid glycerin also works. We use the Gazillion bubble giant bubble wands and Bryan got this big bubble thing from ThinkGeek. The Gazillion bubble wands work fantastic. The big bubble thing from ThinkGeek made 10 foot bubbles, so it worked pretty well :)
