We started spring break with a birthday celebration - Gussy turned 7!! He's getting so old!!
For his birthday he wanted to go to a trampoline park. We went there a few weeks ago and he saw some people swing the trapeze, then jump to it, swing out and drop. So he perfected the move. It's cool to watch him do it.
Jacob does it too. I think the trapeze was their favorite thing to do.
There was a smaller trapeze in the kid area and Noah had fun doing that too
Jacob wanted to do laser tag for his birthday, so we did that on Tuesday.
On Thursday we went trilobite hunting in Delta. I was worried it would take time to find the trilobites, maybe be a little tedious, but they were right there. You split a rock and bam, there's trilobites. I found a couple of full, perfect ones just sitting around in the smaller rocks. We were there for 2 hours and the boys were totally invested the whole time. We walked away with a big bucket full.
Jacob turned 8!!! He's been waiting and waiting and waiting.
Grandma Gishi got him all geared up for scouts and he's loving it.
This happened a few weeks ago - his first pinewood derby!! They let him do it even though he wasn't 8 yet. It didn't go great, but we learned a few things and it'll go better next time.
Noah did a little kid sports class at the rec center and LOVED it. He really did love it, but you might not know because he's constantly talking about when his swimming lessons start. Constantly. He only has 1 more week to go!
We don't really "do" birthday parties, but for the big 8 we let Jacob have a party at Nickel City.
It was super-duper fun. Being able to just show up and let the kids run wild while they provide pizza and drinks was fantastic.
We signed Jacob and Gus up for fishing lessons.
The lessons are once a week, 2 hours long for 6 weeks. They do some instruction at the beginning of the lesson, then let them fish for the rest of it (catch and release). Jacob caught 3 and Gus caught 1 - they were ecstatic. Bryan's dad has been waiting for these guys to go fishing with him and has big plans this summer for an epic fishing trip at a local river. We figured we'd make it a little easier on everyone and get a little experience for Jacob and Gus first.
WHEW. Those 2 weeks were pretty crazy. We had a ward fundraiser I had a minor role in planning, but after adding that to all of this, and Jacob's baptism on Saturday, I decided do nothing for my birthday and it was fabulous.
