Zoo

We went to the National Zoo, which we thought would be sticky and hot, but was extremely nice weather and really fun. Before we started, Bryan's dad got Jacob a hat. That was a great start and surprisingly, Jacob kept it on the entire time. We went to the petting zoo, where Jacob poked a cow and a donkey, then yelled at the pig.

Gus hung out in the stroller most of the time, a stroller bought specifically for him to ride in at the zoo. He liked it.
Jacob is suppose to be looking at the gorilla, but likes the rocks better. We found that unless the animal was moving, he was uninterested and would occupy himself elsewhere.

He did like the orangutangs. He's pointing and talking to them in this picture.

He LOVED the mist sprayer. When we walked by it, I kept walking to the button you push to make it work and heard some lady say "Oh, don't lick that!! That's gross water!!" and turn around to find Jacob laying on his stomach, licking the ground. Weirdo. He probably would have played there the entire time if we let him.

Apparently the pandas were jerks - that's Bryan's explanation - because they situated themselves right where you couldn't see them from either the inside exhibit or the outdoor exhibit. This is the picture Bryan took to always remember the jerk pandas.

So they found this instead. I think Jacob liked it better anyways.

While we waited for Bryan's parents to pull the car up, Jacob had more fun that I think he had the entire time (other than the mist sprayer) playing with the bark, chasing pigeons and "helping" people who were renting strollers.
